Services for Eldery and Disabled People at Senen Train Station Unoptimal

During homecoming season, the Pasar Senen Train Station in Central Jakarta provides extra services for disabled people and elderly for homecoming to their hometown. The services consist of wheelchairs provision, train carriages and officers who ready to serve passengers with disabilities and elderly.

Head of Pasar Senen Train Station, Supendi disclosed the services are always provided during homecoming season. This year, his side has prepared two units of wheelchairs for disabledd people. "We also prepare some train carriages for disabled people and elderly, as well as officers to serve them," he expressed, Tuesday (7/29).

He admitted that train carriage has yet to serve elderly and disabled people optimally. "Therefore, we continue to evaluate the supporting facilities every year," he told.

14,000 Homecomers Dispatched from Senen Station

He furthered, such train carriages are centered for Majapahit, Manoreh, and Krakatau trains heading to East and Centrl Java. "We also provide the same facility to Sawungalih train," he stated.

In addition, two breastfeeding mothers rooms are also provided. They are located in a waiting room on the south of paltform and inside station.

He added, breastfeeding room outside platform can accommodate 10 people and 5 people inside station. "These rooms have been equipped with air conditioning, refrigerator to keep baby milk, and diaper change room," he finished.
